Consumer Cellular Opens Customer Support Center in Louisville
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Consumer Cellular officially inaugurates the company’s new customer support center. The $15.5 million investment is the company’s first operation in Kentucky and will create 486 full-time jobs.
Consumer Cellular will open its first operation in Kentucky in an existing building on Triton Boulevard in Louisville. The new customer support center will allow the company to better serve its customers nationwide. Jobs created through the project include call center management and support positions, with business leaders planning to add more than 400 of these new positions in 2022.

Founded in 1995, Oregon-based Consumer Cellular is a postpaid mobile virtual network operator that offers cell phones, low-cost, no-contract cellular plans and accessories for users over 50. The company operates exclusively in the United States and employs more than 2,400 people. people at four sites in Arizona and Oregon.
Consumer Cellular’s investment and projected job creation have added to recent economic momentum in the Commonwealth as the state rebuilds stronger from the effects of the pandemic.
To encourage investment and job growth in the community, the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority (KEDFA) in December 2021 approved a performance-based incentive agreement with the company under the Kentucky Business Program Investment.
By achieving its annual objectives over the term of the agreement, the business may be eligible to retain a portion of the new tax revenue it generates. The company can claim eligible incentives against its income tax and/or employee contributions.
Additionally, Consumer Cellular may receive resources from Kentucky Workforce Service Providers. These include free recruitment and placement services, customized training at reduced cost, and job training incentives.
